Data Loss Prevention Tips
MAKE FREQUENT, RELIABLE BACKUPS.
Use proven, widely accepted backup hardware and commercial backup software.
Check your backup files for reliability from time to time.
Use a proven, widely accepted antivirus program and update it regularly.
Have a bootable, virus-free diskette containing your antivirus software available.
If infected with a virus, boot your computer with your bootable antivirus diskette, then use it to scan and clean your hard drive(s). You must also scan any diskettes used with that computer.
Use a commercial data recovery utility only if you're sure you know what you're doing and are willing to accept the results, whether good or bad.
BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP!
